Vegas DeLuxe has learned that family, friends and key patrons of hotel tycoon Steve Wynn are getting a special surprise tonight, and only Steve, Elaine and two other hotel executives know the full details. I just posted this breaking story on twitter.com/robin_leach.

The mystery deepens because a veil of silence has been wrapped around a private concert party for 800 specially invited guests to be held in the Encore Theater, the home of the late Danny Gans.

One rumor I’ve heard is that it could be a special performance by retired country king Garth Brooks. The singer has been seen dining with Steve on a couple of recent occasions at the casino resort.

Elaine Wynn, who recently signed an amicable settlement over their marriage breakup, also will host the guests. I am told that the guests have no idea what to expect when they arrive at the theater, but some are already asking if this is a dry run for a star Steve is thinking of booking as a new resident act.

Lord of the Dance returning to Strip

Just confirmed: Lord of the Dance is coming back to the Strip at the Steve Wyrick Theater in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile. We tipped this in today’s Strip Scribbles and just posted this breaking story at twitter.com/robin_leach.

We were working the developing story in conjunction with comedian Andrew Dice Clay also coming to the same theater simultaneously. We will have a full story tomorrow, but the plan is for Lord of the Dance and Steve Wyrick to hold down the early evening, with The Diceman at late night.

Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance returns for a special limited engagement with its eclectic blend of Celtic dance in the intimate 425-seat theater from June 25 through Aug.16.

“This intimate theater setting for Lord of the Dance is one of the most incredible audience opportunities I have ever seen in my 11 years of working with this remarkable show,” said Bob Cayne, promoter and president of Global Entertainment Group. “Las Vegas will be the only place in the world to experience this stunning and energetic Irish dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes up close and personal.”

Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance performed 2,000 shows during its 5 ½-year residency on the Strip that ended in April 2004. The touring production has played in more than 300 cities, 67 countries and traveled a distance equivalent to circling the world three times. Michael, the show’s creator, producer and artistic director, opened the show in Dublin, Ireland, in 1996.
