Vegas DeLuxe has confirmed that the hit singing twosome Zowie Bowie will be moving to the Strip this fall after a four-month run at the Palms. They had moved closer to the Strip from the Red Rock Resort in Summerlin, and they said it was a “dream come true” to move to the Palms -- click HERE for our March 6 story.
But Marley Taylor and Chris Phillips, who make up Zowie Bowie, also had always wanted to bring back a Vintage Vegas big band show to our desert kingdom, and there wasn’t space available at the Palms Lounge to do that.
Here’s a YouTube clip of Vintage Vegas when Zowie Bowie performed at the 2008 Miss USA Pageant:

I’ve heard from reliable sources that Zowie Bowie will end their Palms run during August and immediately start rehearsals for the new show combining Top 40 yesteryear hits with a Vintage Vegas production that includes a 20-piece orchestra with a big-brass sound. It’s believed that the show will open in either September or October in one Strip hotel’s main showroom. One hotel group executive told me: “It’s entertainment that will counteract some of the impact likely to affect hotels in and around the CityCenter project as it opens in stages this winter.”
The Palms has been tipped to a major best-selling European singer discovered by the Pussycat Dolls, who play The Pearl Theater at the Palms on June 27. Expect an announcement then about the new act taking over the Palms Lounge. The Pussycat Dolls with Lady Gaga as their opening act have just wrapped their Doll Domination World Tour stop in Singapore and South Korea and now move on to the Philippines and Hawaii before their Las Vegas appearance and their July tour of Britain.
Here’s a YouTube clip of “Hush Hush” from the Pussycat Dolls in advance of their Palms visit:
