Steve Wynn keeps invite open for Larry King; Garth Brooks has Encore show

There’s still no new full-time resident at Steve Wynn’s Encore Theater after the death of impressionist Danny Gans, but indications are that guest stars Garth Brooks and Larry King will be making return appearances after their debuts there.
In fact, according to my colleague Las Vegas podcast prince Steve Freiss, Garth has his second engagement there tomorrow night, but once again it’s a private affair. However, the rumbling keeps growing that this is all to “test the waters” for the retired country king, and Steve Wynn is using all his persuasive powers to persuade Garth to sign on as a regular.
Garth Brooks.
Meantime, 75-year-old CNN talk show titan Larry King and his country singer wife Shawn Southwick King have been invited back following their weekend appearance. Despite slower-than-expected ticket sales -- reportedly only 600 purchased ducats for the charity proceeds, with more than 1,000 with complimentary tickets -- Steve said that Larry could return at any time. Billionaire Warren Buffet, who was holding his annual NetJets meeting here, attended Larry’s storytelling show.
Click HERE for our executive editor Johnny Kats’ report on Larry’s show and that memorable moment during the audience Q&A when Larry said when and if he ever retires -- his current CNN contract runs through 2011 -- Ryan Seacrest might be best for the prized spot behind the desk!
