Strip Scribbles: Steve Wynn’s Manhattan condo on the market for $25 million

Strip hotel mogul Steve Wynn is selling his Manhattan condo on New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue as part of his amicable divorce with Elaine Wynn. A $25 million price tag has been put on the entire seventh floor, 3,900-square-foot apartment with more than $4 million in improvements and furnishings. Three of four bedrooms were merged for Steve’s master suite complete with infinity tub.
The original dining room in the elegant pre-war condo tower was turned into a huge eat-in media center. The new dining room was carved out of maids’ rooms and a servants’ eating area and kitchen.
Steve paid $7 million in 2001 and completely renovated it. Today’s $25 million price tag gets you the pad, the fixtures and the furnishings, but not his art collection, which will be shipped back here to Las Vegas!

*The 2009 NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers will lead 20 top teams into Las Vegas starting July 10 for the nine-day, 55-game Summer League schedule. Four games will tip off on Day 1 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion with the Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, the Detroit Pistons, the Golden State Warriors, the Houston Rockets, the Toronto Raptors and the Maloof family’s Sacramento Kings.
This year’s action could include 24 of the 30 first round picks from the 2009 NBA draft being held tomorrow. Also scheduled to appear are the Chicago Bulls, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Denver Nuggets, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the New Orleans Hornets, the New York Knicks, the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers, the San Antonio Spurs and the Washington Wizards.
Actor Ryan Malgarini celebrates his 17th birthday at the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix.
*For once I get to write about a birthday celebration outside a casino nightclub! That’s because Ryan Malgarini is 17, and he celebrated at the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix with a birthday cake and a fast spin around the track behind a snazzy racecar.

*Mark the date on your schedule now: Our hometown heroes The Killers have been booked for a Sept. 9 concert at Mandalay Bay Events Center, with tickets going on sale Saturday. The Killers -- Brandon flowers, Dave Kenning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci -- begin their fall tour in Washington, D.C., in August to promote their third studio album Day & Age and new single “A Dustland Fairytale,” which they debuted on Late Night With David Letterman.

*Sports stars, celebrities and clubgoers got an unexpected performance from Wale as the hip-hop star stopped his party hosting duties and jumped onstage. He performed his hit “Chilling,” which features Lady Gaga. NHL stars who’ve stuck around town after their awards show -- including Chris Chelios and Nicklas Lidstrom from the Detroit Red Wings, Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks, Mike Richards and Riley Cote from the Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals stars Sergei Federov and Mike Green, New York Rangers star Scott Gomez, Jeremy Roenick of the San Jose Sharks and NHL legends Mark Messier, Kirk Muller and Anson Carter-- all watched the action.
Bette Midler celebrates the 100th performance of The Showgirl Must Go On at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace.
*All My Children star Susan Lucci dined at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in Caesars Palace before attending last night’s Bette Midler show at the nearby Colosseum. Also there was actor Robert Wuhl, who starred in HBO’s Arli$$. Incidentally, the four Australian mates of Human Nature at the Imperial Palace told me that Bette will be their guest at tomorrow night’s show on her day off. You can bet your last dollar she’ll join in the infectious audience sing-along and dance-along party!
*Sincere best wishes to our PR pal Frank Lieberman, who underwent surgery last night at Mountain View Hospital for two hip fractures sustained in a weekend fall. Frank reps several local headliners, including the new Vocal Soup stars Clint Holmes, Susan Anton, Domenick Allen and Martin Nievera, who opened at the Suncoast last weekend. Frank is expected to face two weeks of hospital and rehabilitative treatment before being released. We send love and prayers his way for a speedy and pain-free recovery.
