Photo Gallery: Before Greg Biffle’s victory at Sam’s Town 300

Greg Biffle won yesterday’s Sam’s Town 300 race after the appropriately named Scott Speed started from the pole.

Kyra White, a 14-year-old at Liberty High School in Las Vegas, won the "Speedway Superstar" competition, which qualified her to sing the National Anthem before yesterday’s race.

Our contributing photographer and avid race fan Tom Donoghue was trackside to capture all the thrills and high-speed action.

Today’s drivers who got in last-minute laps include Mark Martin, Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne, Juan Pablo Montoya, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Joey Logano, Roger Penske and, of course, the winner Greg Biffle.

Today the pre-show gets underway shortly after noon with entertainment by Gordie Brown. I’ll handle all the racecar driver introductions about 1 p.m., and by 1:30 p.m., we will have had the National Anthem sung by the cast of Jersey Boys, now at the Palazzo, and the U.S. Thunderbirds flyover. Also entertaining today will be the Red Bull stunt pilots and the Flying Elvis Presley parachute team!
