Just 72 hours before the big NASCAR race yesterday, one of the Busch brothers, who both hail from Las Vegas, predicted victory! Kurt Busch predicted a win for himself; click HERE for his crystal ball forecast.
Kyle Busch emerges from his racecar ... and smoke ... victorious.
The prediction came true -- a Busch crossed the finish line first -- but it was younger brother Kyle who won and not Kurt, who made the forecast after he won the inaugural Kurt Busch Foundation’s Sprint for the Kids fundraiser at Pole Position Raceway last week! So sports writers worldwide will pour additional highly combustible fuel on the battle between the Busch brothers and continue to play up the sibling rivalry!
Kyle Busch kisses the Las Vegas Motor Speedway ground he won on March 1, 2009.
Durango High School graduate Kyle celebrated in unique style after the 427 laps by leaping from his car and kissing the track -- and then showering his pit crew with champagne. Kyle's celebration of his NASCAR Spring Cup Shelby 427 win continued at Body English in the Hard Rock Hotel, where he sprayed a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne over the enthusiastic crowd of fans and supporters
Mayor Oscar Goodman -- wearing a hat for the first time ever in his life -- and his four pack of stunning showgirls helped kick off the ceremonies for the opening of the sellout NASCAR 427 Sprint Series race yesterday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Click HERE for our birthday boy editor Johnny Kats’ heart-wrenching story and video of how the Busch brothers are tied to one of the rare local tragedies in NASCAR history.
And, as promised, here are other NASCAR photos shot by our contributing photographers Tom Donoghue and Erik Kabik, who were right on the track with me when we started the race.
