After all the excitement of the Siegfried & Roy farewell reunion show, NASCAR and the M Resort opening, it’s time to return to what really gets us on our feet: Music! And we’ve got photos from two hot shows!

Magician Penn Jillette, who celebrates his birthday tomorrow, was in the front row with our contributing photographer Scott Harrison when Dweezil Zappa, son of late music legend Frank Zappa, played Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues.

Zappa Plays Zappa @HOB; Method Man @Prive

Dweezil’s band Zappa Plays Zappa presented an incredible show, sometimes duplicating his father’s best and sometimes even exceeding it.

At the We Rock Hip Hop party in Prive at Planet Hollywood, Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man surprised the crowd. The hip-hop star posed for photos with fans and then at 1:30 a.m. jumped up on the DJ booth. He performed two hits and two new songs and was so encouraged by the enthusiastic revelers that he jumped from the booth onto the gold speakers so everybody could see him.

By 2 a.m., the impromptu performance was over, and Method Man took off into the night -- but not before we’d snapped these great shots!
