Strip Scribbles: Paris misses mom Kathy Hilton’s birthday by one day

After a five-day scuba-diving vacation in Hawaii, Paris Hilton flew in yesterday from a Saturday appearance in St. Louis to begin filming Season 2 of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. TV crews will be filming the MTV reality series at the Hard Rock Hotel. Paris was here recently to celebrate her 28th birthday (click HERE for our exclusive coverage). Paris missed her mom, Kathy, by a few hours yesterday when Kathy and dad Rick flew out after a weekend birthday celebration for Kathy here.

Kathy enjoyed a spa day at Qua in Caesars Palace and then was treated to a luxury hair and makeup session by hair king to the stars Michael Boychuck at his Amp salon in the Palms. Michael has been tending the tresses of their daughters, Paris and Nicky, for more than a decade.

Then Michael took Rick, Kathy and their best friend, designer Faye Resnick, to dinner at Iron Chef Kerry Simon’s restaurant in Palms Place. After the dinner of wok-charred rock shrimp, crispy rice and lamb chops, Michael had arranged a surprise “Happy Birthday” sing-along. New Palms resident star singers Zowie Bowie did the honors as Kerry presented Kathy with a strawberry butter cream white cake, and I followed -- off key, I’ll confess -- when Kerry brought out champagne!

*Today is the official 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily opening of the Hard Rock Hotel’s beach club pool. The 51 plush cabanas have been refinished and include a cabana host. The club pool has received an overhaul with upgraded LED lighting and resurfaced base.

*Playboy TV cameras filmed the antics of more than 100 dancers, models and body-painted beauties at the all-nude Palomino Club here over the weekend for its upcoming “King of Clubs” show. … Congratulations to Krave in Planet Hollywood for being named one of the Top 100 American bars in 2009 by Nightclub and Bar magazine, landing at No. 44.

Star surveillance

Lance Bass enjoyed chips and salsa while sipping on Coronas at Pink Taco inside Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday. Wearing brightly colored glasses, Lance and a group of seven guys sat at a table near the bar and took pictures in front of the chalkboard that reads “If you don’t eat Pink Tacos, your best friend will.”… Chris Long and Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams were spotted soaking up the sun at Wet Republic at MGM Grand. The two kicked off Saturday afternoon by partying in one of Wet Republic's bungalows and enjoying the atmosphere and panoramic view of the packed pool. The venue was in full swing as Chris, Steven and beautiful guests indulged in the daylife scene during Wet Republic’s first weekend of the pool party season. … Poker stars Huck Seed and Nenad Medic were spotted at a VIP table Friday at XS nightclub inside Encore. Also at XS: Cleveland Browns linebacker Willie McGinest. … Poker pro David Williams was at LAX in the Luxor with friends, and they all took to Patron for the night. … Huck and Nenad, along with David, were back at XS on Saturday. Huck recently won the $500,000 grand prize in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship at Caesars Palace, while David lost in the Elite Eight.
… Willie and New England Patriots cornerback Shawn Springs were at Tryst in the Wynn on Saturday with separate parties.

*There’s a casting call for Season 2 of VH1’s Real Chance at Love tomorrow at Hawaiian Tropic Zone in Planet Hollywood. The stars of the hit reality show, brothers Real and Chance, are back to give love another try as 20 new women are selected to move into the Stallionnaire ranch. Eligible ladies must be at least 21 years old. The 10:30 p.m. casting call says you have to be attractive, fun, energetic and definitely single for the opportunity to compete for the brother of their choice.

Rapper Ice Cube appears at Prive in Planet Hollywood before starting his European tour to promote his new gangsta rap album Raw Footage and its first single and video “Why Me.” The hip hop megastar has concerts in Holland, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic in a 19-day run. … Wear sunglasses to dazzle when you bring your bling and crank up the crunk for the Bling Ball at Jet in The Mirage.
