Normally it’s the Pussycat Dolls who draw standing-room-only crowds for their sexy striptease numbers, but there were even more fans jammed into their lounge at Pure in Caesars Palace when Puddle of Mudd performed a mini concert. The rockers had the crowd in a frenzy as they worked through their chart-topping hits including “Blurry” and “She Hates Me.” They ended their set with the Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker” and then raced over to Pure Management Group's sister nightclub LAX at the Luxor to cool down with magician Criss Angel, who was relaxing after his Cirque du Soleil show Believe.
Also at Pure were hip-hop artist Too Short and renowned DJ AM. It was inevitable that they’d wind up together on the mic. After DJ AM’s mash-up set, the rapper served up an impromptu performance of two of his hits as poker pro David Williams led the applause.
DJ AM also worked his wizardry on the wheels of steel at LAX while on the Strip, and Grammy-nominated rap phenomenon Busta Rhymes and his entourage stopped by to check out the sounds. He took over a plush VIP loft and ordered Grey Goose cocktails and Patron shots for his group. NBA star Antoine Walker, former NFL running back Marshall Faulk and San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson hung out at separate tables on either side of the DJ booth in the VIP stage section.
Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past decade giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.
