Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao of the Philippines sent Britain’s Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton to the canvas in the first round. In total, Manny knocked out Ricky twice in the first round. Ricky was able to get up for the second round.
However, Manny floored Ricky with seven seconds left in the second round, and The Hitman was out cold. Fight over, and Manny wins with a dominant TKO! Official results: 2:59 by TKO in the second round.
Tom Jones sang the British national anthem; Jasmine Villegas sang the U.S. national anthem. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Jack Nicholson, Jeremy Piven, Denzel Washington, Cedric the Entertainer, Jay-Z, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, David Arquette and Wolfgang Puck were among the fight fans in the audience at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Jay-Z hosted a pre-fight party at Lavo last night; tonight, the music mogul hosts a post-fight party at Tao.
