Just as in Growing Pains, like father, like son?

Well, not exactly, except they are both in showbiz! My longtime friend actor and writer Alan Thicke can sing, but nowhere near as good as his son Robin Thicke.

“I just don’t know where he got that voice,” Alan once told me.

Alan flew into Las Vegas over the weekend to watch his son co-headline with Jennifer Hudson at The Pearl in the Palms, and then they held their after-party at Prive in Planet Hollywood. Click HERE for our story and photo gallery posted Saturday morning.

Robin didn’t even think twice about resting his voice after the show because he hopped on the mic at 1:20 a.m. and sang two of his hits for the crowd: “Lost Without U” and “ Wanna Love U Girl.”

Actor Luke Perry and Peepshow co-star Kelly Monaco with a friend were in the crowd. Just a little less than 24 hours later, TV hunk Mario Lopez, who had emceed the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton weigh-in, hosted a party at Prive that brought out British comedy actor Russell Brand, hip-hop mogul Sean “P.Diddy” Combs and actor Stephen Baldwin.
