Mel B joins Invisible Children’s fight to stop massacre by child soldiers

It’s one of the world’s ugliest and most hideous crimes against humanity, the kidnapping and torture of “invisible children” who are then forced to become child soldiers and taught to rape and murder their own families and countrymen! The Lord’s Resistance Army led by madman Joseph Kony has massacred hundreds of thousands in the revolting tribal wars in Uganda and the African Congo.
Talk show titan Oprah Winfrey is one of many celebrities raising her voice to have the United Nations put an end to the violence. Now our Peepshow headliner Mel Brown has joined the cause.
Mel B and Jason Russell speak to a crowd of Invisible Children supporters outside Planet Hollywood.
Invisible Children co-founder Jason Russell and Scary Spice organized a “rescue” protest at Planet Hollywood, where she performs nightly in the adult cabaret. Our contributing photographer Denise Truscello was there, and she was moved by the horrendous stories of the conscripted children.
Said Mel: “I am outraged that one man is responsible for all this wickedness. It is tragic and appalling. I am horrified, as a mother of my three children, that this twisted man kidnaps and tortures children and then turns them into killers. We have to speak up and create worldwide awareness. We need the media and the U.N. to apply the maximum amount of political pressure to the situation and Uganda. It cannot be allowed to continue.”
