Tickets for Beyonce’s shows at the Encore go on sale Saturday

By Robin Leach

Beyonce's I Am ... Sasha Fierce CD cover.

It’s official -- even though it’s not up on the Wynn/Encore Web site yet: Tickets for Beyonce’s July 30-31 and Aug. 1-2 concerts in the Danny Gans Theater at the Encore will go on sale this Saturday, and the show will be recorded live as an exclusive DVD compilation for later release!

As Vegas DeLuxe reported on April 18 -- click HERE for that story, the four shows are the last stop on the North American leg of Beyonce’s 2009 “I Am …” World Tour. The Encore theater, at just 1,500 seats, is the smallest venue on her entire trip, so fans will get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get up close and personal to Jay-Z’s wife. Front row seats will be $1,000 per ticket, and the other prices are $750, $500 and $250, and all may only be purchased in tandem with a Wynn/Encore hotel suite package!

This is Beyonce’s first full-length show since 2007’s successful “The Beyonce Experience.” She promises to premiere live performances from her latest international chart-topper I Am … Sasha Fierce, her first studio collection since the Grammy Award-winning, platinum-selling B’Day topped worldwide charts in September 2006. Paris-based avant-garde fashion designer Thierry Mugler is creative adviser on her world tour and has designed 71 bold signature looks for the show. Thierry’s designs are included in Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity at New York-New York.

I’m reliably told that the announcement for comedienne and TV talk show host Whoopi Goldberg’s run at the Danny Gans Theater will be made shortly after Beyonce’s tickets go on sale. Whoopi is reportedly set to perform here this month, possibly Memorial Day weekend?

Hotel owner Steve Wynn has directed an all-out push to book acts at the theater so it is not dark over the upcoming months, and the rumor is that Danny’s manager Chip Lightman is working on some of the star names they want to showcase there.

Incidentally, congratulations to Steve, who will be presented with the Steinfeld Humanitarian Award during the Platinum Circle Awards Ceremony at the Hospital Design Expo across the street at The Venetian on May 14. Las Vegas hotel designer Brad Friedmutter also will be honored with a Platinum Circle Award for excellence.
