George Clooney, P.Diddy and Russell Brand shoot films on the Strip

By Robin Leach

George Clooney.

Location filming on the Strip this week nearly caused even more traffic jams! George Clooney is starring in the Paramount film Up in the Air, and the handsome Oscar winner shot scenes at McCarran Airport, in front of Bally’s and at a motel near Mandalay Bay on the final night of shooting. All the filming was wrapped in total secrecy, and professional blockers were hired to keep people from taking photos.

Filming ended last night, and George and director Jason Reitman threw their official wrap party for the cast and crew of 200 at Rare 120 in the Hard Rock Hotel. Production officials barred photographers from shooting the party arrivals and also embargoed the photographs taken on location on public right-of-way streets!

My spywitness told me that George caused quite a stir on the Strip, and, per his usual friendly self, gladly stopped to say hi to the gathered fans before jumping into his car.

Also filming here this week on the Strip, Sean “P.Diddy” Combs and British comic Russell Brand for the film Get Him to the Greek. It was last minute, but the producers managed to talk Luxor comedy headliner Carrot Top into join the shoot. Carrot Top raced over from his show to Caesars Palace for his scenes, where Diddy was filming additional late-late-night sequences at Pure.

Diddy and Russell also filmed at Planet Hollywood during their weeklong filming visit. Diddy hosts Wet Republic at MGM with DJs Felix Da Housecat and Sky Nellor tomorrow.
