It’s official! Thanks to Playboy star Holly Madison leading a parade of bikini-clad beauties, Las Vegas now holds the Guinness World Record for the largest such gathering! There’s even more Holly news to add to our report yesterday about her being tipped to join the Peepshow cast at Planet Hollywood: Holly is moving full time to our city!

To be honest, there was no category in the Guinness Book of World Records, so the win is definitely ours because it was the first time ever attempted. Danny Girton, the adjudication executive for Guinness, told me: “When we add a new category like this, we set a baseline of 250 participants. We like to have at least 10 groups with 25 people apiece. Vegas met that criteria, and I have certified the win -- and the new world record with 281 bikini girls.”

Earlier, The Girls Next Door reality star arrived in a pink Cadillac and joined our Merry Mayor of Mirth Oscar Goodman at the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign -- which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year -- for an official proclamation. Oscar and Holly declared “Summer in Paradise” exactly a month ahead of the rest of the Northern Hemisphere.

Traffic on the Strip came to a screeching halt as Holly hosted a retrospective runway fashion show featuring swimwear from the 1950s to the present day. Then Holly stopped traffic for a second time after she bussed along the Strip to Fashion Show Mall to attempt the world record.

The blondes, brunettes and redheads from Jubilee!, the Peepshow dancers and Planet Hollywood poker pit girls, the Rehab pool servers and others representing Strip hotels and pools marched single file across the Strip under police escort to the Wynn walkway and then up the pedestrian bridge -- and back over to Fashion Show Mall, where they circled Holly and the feather-plumed showgirls for the official record photo!

Afterward, the 281 sexy entrants peeled off to mark the world’s largest one-day pool party held at resorts all over town. Holly herself took 100 beauties to Planet Hollywood.

“Las Vegas has an incredibly unique and vibrant pool culture that is unlike any other in the world,” Oscar said. “Nowhere is the pool more celebrated than in Las Vegas, where our world-class resorts have conceived of unique pool concepts that our millions of visitors enjoy each year.”

Holly added: “There’s no more perfect city in the world to kick off summer like this than Vegas. It’s always been my home away from home, but it’s about to become my full-time home. I just love all the pool parties and the great restaurants!”

She revealed to Vegas DeLuxe that she’ll be moving here next week! It’s all in advance of the new reality show she plans to film here -- and also in the event that the rumors prove true that she’s joining the cast of Peepshow at Planet Hollywood. Click HERE for our story yesterday.

Holly will be moving into Planet Hollywood, and to welcome her, I’m told that on move-in day, the nightlights will be changed to read Planet Holly! I’m certain forever afterward it will be abbreviated down to her name!
