Ozzy Osbourne’s shocking confession: the night he tried to kill Sharon

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne has never hidden the fact that he was addicted to drugs and alcohol at the height of his career with Black Sabbath. It probably explains why he bit the head off a bat -- and two doves. But until now, the father of Dancing With the Stars contestant Kelly Osbourne has never disclosed that he once tried to kill his wife Sharon!
The Osbournes are Las Vegas regulars, and Sharon, Ozzy, Kelly and son Jack all admit their fondness for our city. While Kelly was energetically earning 52 points last night on ABC’s top-rated series to tie with Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond, Ozzy was in New York at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert.
Last week in London, and back in his hometown of Birmingham, he launched his autobiography I Am Ozzy and says the shocking revelations in its 350 pages “are no bedtime story, not one for the grandkids.” Ozzy says the incidents with the bat and the doves are the least of it! “There have been a lot f****** worse than that,” he confided.

He also confessed that the most shameful moment of his life was with Sharon, who serves as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
“I regret trying to kill Sharon” said Ozzy candidly. “It wasn’t my plan to go out, get drunk, try to strangle her and wake up in jail!” Amazingly, he credits his wife with saving his own life. “I’d be dead. I’d have killed myself by now. Falling in love with Sharon was the best thing that ever happened to me. She stuck by me. She was patient. She stuck it out. Her being sober saved me.”
He credits Sharon for managing him and his career, her own career, the kids and their home, one of 27 he bought over 28 years of his extravagances.
Today, Ozzy says he won’t retire until he dies, and he’s completely given up his “addictions to cocaine, booze, women,” and now he’s an exercise junkie working out daily jumping rope and on a cross-trainer.

I Am Ozzy is on sale in Britain and should be released here before year’s end. In one London promotional interview, he admitted that he was emotionally moved by Kelly’s appearance on Dancing With the Stars.
“My jaw dropped. We were there for her first dance,” Ozzy said. “I never thought she was that good. She’s never done anything like that before in her life. I tried hard not to cry, but Sharon of course just let the tears flow.”
