The new rock, comedy and nightlife venue Dead Man’s Hand opens tomorrow night at the Playground with a performance by System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan and his celebrity friends. Additionally, there’s a comedy show and music set from the stars who make up the group The Starf******.

The group performs again Saturday for Bluff magazine’s World Series of Poker Final table celebration. It’s made up of musicians from Guns ’n’ Roses, Rob Zombie, Stray Cats and Alice Cooper’s band. Guest musicians have previously included Billy Idol, Axl Rose and Eddie Van Halen.

Pro poker players Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Brandon Cantu, Joe Sebok and other members of the Ultimate Bet poker team will be in attendance for the opening weekend, along with Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul and adult film star Tera Patrick.

Dead Man’s Hand will feature comedians Buffet Jackson, Jason Harris and Brandon “Gooch” Hahn during the two-hour comedy showcase that precedes the rockers.

The owners, including Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, promise a one-of-a-kind experience for fans to see their fellow idols up close in the intimate, 200-person capacity club. Jerry and Scott also plan to appear and perform regularly.
