Photo Gallery: Carlos Santana rolls up his sleeves to fight hunger

Guitar genius Carlos Santana has partnered with our local Three Square and World Hunger Year to help end hunger, and yesterday our contributing photographer Erik Kabik captured the master musician on his first visit to the food bank.

Carlos, along with Noreen Springstead, director of marketing and fundraising for WHY, and Julie Murray, CEO and president of Three Square, spoke to VIP guests and members of the media to bring awareness to the important cause. Carlos took a tour of the facility and thanked the volunteers onsite giving their time and energy to win the fight against childhood hunger. He autographed T-shirts for them and happily posed for photos.

In addition to Carlos’ efforts yesterday at Three Square, he’s agreed that during his Nov. 11-22 performance run at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel, concertgoers who bring five nonperishable food items or make a $5 donation to Three Square will receive a $5 gift certificate valid at Ago or Rare 120 in the Hard Rock. WHY and Three Square will be on hand before and after each show to collect donations.
