It had to be one of the most unusual art exhibitions ever! Normally, an art show attracts stuffy people in suits inside the hushed, respectful atmosphere of a museum. Not so when action sports star and stuntman Carey Hart puts on a show.
Crowds lined the hallways of the Hard Rock Hotel and packed into Carey’s Hart & Huntington tattoo parlor for the unveiling of limited edition, original tattoo art prints.
Tattoo art by Jason Blanco.
Carey was on hand to welcome guest artist Big Gus of the Ink House Tattoo in Orange County and Pantera rocker Vinnie Paul. The prints on display covered the entire interior of Carey’s store, and, at $75 each, they were flying out the door so fast, none were left by the end of the party.
Two of the favorites were Mike Roach’s traditional screaming eagle that reflects his legendary punk background from T.S.O.L. and Jason Tritten’s Japanese-style skull that appeared to pop out of its frame.

Some of the artists expressed their skills on the custom H&H hats, and more than 60 people in the small store stopped in their tracks to watch in amazement. Additionally, there were original art pieces in the Hard Rock Hotel hallways by tattoo artists including Jime Litwalk, Clark North, Jason Blanco, Emiliano Gabaldon, Dizzle and Big Gus.
Hart & Huntington artist Jime also held a two-hour tattoo seminar titled “Simplicity for Longevity.” Some 25 top local artists turned out to check the way Jime masterfully handles each customer’s tattoo from beginning to end.

Contributing photographer Cody Boor of the Hard Rock Hotel captured the excitement of the unique art event.
