It was a “Day of Delight” when executives at the new Mandarin Oriental in CityCenter welcomed 400 newly hired employees with a series of special events. The hotel will open a week from Friday -- Dec. 4 -- with a black-tie gala.

Programming included a special performance by local entertainers, a parade to showcase distinct fans from all Mandarin Oriental hotels within the hotel group and a remarkable one-of-a-kind fashion show unveiling 75 colleague uniforms. Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on hand for all the excitement.

To show their appreciation, department heads and managers themselves stepped onto the runway to debut the sophisticated Asian-inspired uniforms, which included a lavish winter valet ensemble, posh concierge apparel and high-end spa attire. Internationally celebrated designer Vivienne Tam, who is known for pairing Western modernity with Eastern culture, created the spa uniforms, which are exclusive to the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.

It also was the first time that media received a look at the stunning Mandarin Oriental ballroom with its views of the Strip. Rajesh Jhingon, Mandarin Oriental general manager, welcomed the new team. He shared its legendary service and sophisticated style with a series of special surprises from entertainment by Cirque du Soleil and a magnificent parade showcasing custom Mandarin Oriental fans from their hotels across the globe to a formal pinning ceremony.

The highlight of the “Day of Delight” was the spectacular fashion show starring the property’s executives, including Rajesh himself.
