Photo Gallery: It’s ‘Dancing With the Scars’ for Donny and Kym

After two weeks of live telecasts and six weeks of preliminary rehearsals, our Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond describes the experience of dancing with professional partner Kym Johnson as “a roller coaster of emotion and excitement.”

So much so that he’s retitled the ABC hit “Dancing With the Scars,” and he revealed: “I’ve used that line on more than one occasion, but with the reality of it being oh-so-true, I can’t count how many times Kym and I have been injured on the dance floor.”

He fessed up that while rehearsing, he’d accidentally but painfully pulled out Kym’s hair extensions not once but three times!

Donny revealed that she got her own back when her elbow smashed into his mouth on one of her tornado-like spins. His jaw had to be iced down for 30 minutes.

“Those dance routines get a little dangerous. When we were rehearsing the salsa number, we had a real accident. The dance required a choreographed kick over Kym’s head. It wasn’t intentional, but I didn’t get my leg high enough and nearly knocked her out cold.

“Every week there’s another battle wound. I’m just crossing my fingers that the injuries remain minor, but now you know why I call it ‘Dancing With the Scars.’ ”
