Las Vegas jam band Moksha performed the first show at the new Strip Hard Rock Cafe to christen the massive 42,000-square-feet palace of rock’s 1,000-seat, third-floor concert area.
Moksha has garnered a faithful following of local fans with its funk rock on guitar, organ, clavinet, bass, drums and horns -- and with its female vocalist. The loyal fans were out of their seats dancing to the rock and jazz numbers, and our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was there to capture the Hard Rock Cafe debut show.

The new Hard Rock Cafe, between Planet Hollywood and the MGM Grand, is set to officially open in mid-October with a ceremonial smashing of 20 guitars by various rock stars and a performance by Chris Cornell.
Pitbull
Meantime over at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay, rapper Pitbull showed up way past midnight to perform an electrifying 1:30 a.m. set, and, believe it or not, the fans were there in force and stayed the entire time.
Pitbull.
Pitbull.
Pitbull, real name Armando Christian Perez, kept fans entertained into the wee hours with his hits “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and “Hotel Room Service,” and our contributing photographer Scott Harrison stayed front and center for our photo collection.
