World’s largest helium balloon makes maiden flight over the Strip

The world’s largest helium-filled, land-tethered balloon, Cloud Nine, was officially launched yesterday with its first passengers soaring 500 feet above the Las Vegas Strip. The balloon, developed by Cloud Nine Entertainment, is the newest attraction on the Strip, offering locals and visitors breathtaking views of the city skyline.

Cloud Nine Entertainment Director of Sales and Marketing Bert Rhine happily toasted partner Kevin Michaels, Cloud Nine founder and CEO, from 500 feet in the air at the launch of the Cloud Nine Balloon yesterday.

VIP passengers from Cloud Nine’s inaugural maiden voyage gathered for a group photo after the flight. Gov. Jim Gibbons’ Chief of Staff Robin Reedy, Luxor and Excalibur President Felix Rappaport and about 20 guests joined Kevin and Bert.
