More than 130 professional golfers will compete for a $4.2 million purse this week in Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. The winner will walk away with $756,000. Justin will be on hand tomorrow at the TPC in Summerlin to play in the Celebrity Pro-Am with stars including rock legend Alice Cooper and poker player of the year Daniel Negreanu.

But it’s the huge, star-studded blockbuster Justin & Friends concert on Saturday at Mandalay Bay Events Center that will really cap off the weeklong fundraising effort. Justin has lined up Snoop Dogg, Jay Sean, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Ciara and TLC for the show. The concert is just one of several events during the tournament week.

A cool $1 million was at stake when Justin had three chances to hit a hole-in-one at the Callaway Golf Center here last night. Our contributing photographers Scott Harrison and Erik Kabik were on the green ready to capture history.

J.T.'s Million-Dollar Hole-in-One

Unfortunately, the nearly impossible challenge proved just that, and J.T. didn't make the one-in-a-million shot, but Callaway still donated $5,000 to the Shriners Hospital Children’s charity. Click HERE for our Las Vegas Sun colleague Case Keefer’s story, in which he points out that Justin hit a hole-in-one two months ago.

J.T. was custom-fitted with a set of Diablo Forged Irons and the soon-to-be-released Diablo Edge Driver for the Celebrity Pro-Am. Dr. Alan Hocknell, VP of Callaway’s Research & Development, and Randy Peterson, director of Fitting and Instruction, supervised the session. Justin has been a Callaway Golf staff pro since last year.

Justin kicked it all off on Sunday hosting a youth clinic with pro golf star Butch Harmon. Then tomorrow, Justin will look over Women’s Day sponsored by our friend Rain Andreani and her Rain Cosmetics based here in Vegas and featuring Vegas golf star and LPGA Tour professional Natalie Gulbis along with five of the most powerful women in our city.
