Both ends of the musical spectrum and even in between are well represented today at Justin Timberlake’s Celebrity Pro-Am. Shock rocker Alice Cooper trekked from his Phoenix home to join smooth jazz star Kenny G and Justin, all golf fanatics, for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open fundraiser at TPC in Summerlin. Justin will partner with his former caddy Anthony Kim, and they were set to tee off at 11:30 a.m. today on the first hole.

Other celebrities include Entourage star Kevin Dillon, comedian George Lopez, singers Josh Kelley and Chris Kirkpatrick and former champion boxer Oscar de la Hoya. Pro poker prince Daniel Negreanu also will be playing. Daniel, 2004 Player of the Year, took up golf when he was 21 and moved to Las Vegas to pursue poker and golf full time.

*The new NBA season tips off with the invasion of the Strip by the defending champion L.A. Lakers for their showdown tomorrow against the Sacramento Kings in a pre-season exhibition game at Thomas & Mack Center. Up first, however, Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom host a four-point party at LAX this evening in the Luxor. I’m reliably told that new bride Khloe Kardashian will be accompanying Lamar and that they’ve postponed any and all honeymoon plans until next spring, when presumably the Lakers will repeat as NBA champions!

*Celebrity star chef Wolfgang Puck and his Las Vegas culinary team have been working since early 2007 developing new recipes for our Clark County School District cafeterias to enhance flavor and nutrition of school day lunches. More than a dozen of these are served daily in our local schools. Today, 20 students from four local elementary schools will join Wolf and his chefs to taste new recipes and help build new menu items over the lunch hour at his Bar & Grill in MGM Grand.

*Congratulations to Oscar-nominated actor Chazz Palminteri! Box office demand for his incredible one-man show A Bronx Tale has been so strong that his limited-engagement run has been extended. He was due to head home to Manhattan after the final Oct. 18 performance, but he’s agreed to continue performing the 18 characters until Oct. 24.

*Las Vegas crooner Brian Evans, who has opened here for Jay Leno, is now in Maui performing a monthly celebrity series while he awaits the release of his debut CD. Brian already has Bob Saget confirmed to perform a show after his own performance. In addition, Zenescope Entertainment, the comic book force behind Final Destination, Seven and Willow Creek, has just signed Brian’s original story Horrorscope to become a 12-issue comic book series. The intense, supernatural thriller is about a young psychic whose brutal murder triggers a physical manifestation of the signs of the zodiac, which rise to seek vengeance for his death.

*Producers of the horror flick Haunting Kira, with zombies, ghosts and demons to be shot this winter here in Las Vegas, have completed a trailer. Take a look at it HERE.

Star surveillance

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was at Dos Caminos in the Palazzo and ordered a wet beef burrito as an off-the-menu request. (After all, who argues with a championship boxer?) He completed his meal with rice and beans and stuck to water, which might indicate he’s still in good health training mode? For that anticipated Manny Pacquiao fight?

Tonight’s tips

The outrageous Diceman hosts a special performance at the Riviera, as Andrew Dice Clay meets the press on media night, kicking off his two months of appearances. … Reunited Loggins & Messina are at the Star of the Desert Arena in Primm. … Actress turned rocker Juliette Lewis performs with her band at Carey Hart’s Wasted Space in the Hard Rock. … German illusionist Jan Rouven will skewer one of our media associates at a special performance at Fremont Street Experience for the kickoff of OktoberFrightFest.

Tomorrow’s teases

The giant Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip becomes the flagship of the empire, and Chris Cornell and other various rockers will be on hand to smash at least 20 guitars to officially open the place.
