One of the world’s top chefs, Joel Robuchon, who has a restaurant at MGM Grand, and our star chef Rick Moonen of RM Seafood in Mandalay Bay were just two of the top toques helping raise funds for the Epicurean Charitable Foundation’s eighth annual scholarship fundraiser gala.

R&B legend Al Green and the B.B. King Blues Club Vegas All-Stars provided poolside entertainment for the gala at The M Resort. Thousands of dollars were raised for the scholarship program, which supports Las Vegas students pursuing careers in the hospitality field.

“We are extremely grateful for the support from the community, especially during these times of economic hardships. Without the contributions, we would be unable to fulfill the dreams of talented and deserving students,” ECF Chairwoman Christina Clifton said.

To date, the organization has supported 26 students, including this year’s eight recipients, with full scholarships to a four-year college. More than 25 Strip restaurants participated with incredible food tastings and wine pairings. Our local PBS station was honored with the 2009 Imperium Award for Leadership for its excellence in and commitment to educating and cultivating youths.
