Angelica Bridges exits Fantasy ‘until further notice’

The following press release was just emailed regarding Baywatch beauty, Playboy model and Strawberry Blonde singer Angelica Bridges’ very new run at Fantasy in the Luxor:

Anita Mann, producer of Fantasy at Luxor Las Vegas, regrets to announce that Angelica Bridges will not be performing in Fantasy until further notice due to personal matters that require her immediate attention.

“Angelica is an incredible professional who we all sincerely loved working with and are deeply disappointed about the situation we find ourselves in today,” Anita said. “Once Angelica is able to resolve her personal matters, we certainly would welcome her back to Fantasy with open arms.

“In the meantime, the talented singers and beautiful dancers of Fantasy will continue to perform nightly, including the new numbers we recently incorporated into the show in honor of our 10th anniversary,” Anita continued. “Fantasy is more exciting now than ever before, and we continue to look forward to entertaining our audiences with our stunning dancers and hot, new music.”

All was well last night when I spoke with Angelica at the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip, which she attended with her Fantasy cast mates. She was on top of the world, enjoying Fantasy and looking forward to future performances.

Whatever the cause of her departure certainly happened within the past 24 hours. Insider sources say the personal matter is likely related to her ex-husband, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Sheldon Souray, and a custody battle over their two daughters.

Updated at 6:34 p.m.: I just spoke with Anita, who told me that Angelica is driving back to L.A. right now as we speak. Angelica’s departure does indeed have everything to do with the custody battle. She was ordered to return to L.A. immediately or lose her children, so she packed up her belongings at the Luxor this afternoon and is distraught and heartbroken.

Angelica will speak with me tomorrow once she has arrived in L.A. and settled. Anita put up notices in the theater tonight about Angelica’s departure. Business had shot up incredibly this week with Angelica’s debut.

Angelica had no choice about leaving because she would’ve lost her two daughters, and her cast mates, Anita and she are all heartbroken. Anita stressed that Angelica would be welcomed back to Fantasy with open arms once everything was back in order.
