Singer Nick Lachey visited the Three Square food bank in Las Vegas during his company Winnit.com’s Everybody Wins Tour.

Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik told me that Nick rolled up in his bright yellow Winnit.com tour bus, which he has been touring around in for nine days. He came inside to greet the 30 Clark County School District students who were at Three Square to assemble 1,440 food bags for the Backpack for Kids Program that provides nutritious, child-friendly food each Friday to children who might otherwise go without during the weekends.

Nick jumped into the assembly line with the kids and immediately warmed up to the group. He was having fun with the kids, seeing who could bag the fastest. Each volunteer grabbed a bag and went down the line, filling it with two of each foot item in the bins, and then tied the bag at the end and started over.

Nick bagged with the kids, then posed for photos with the group before hopping back on the bus to wrap up his tour stop. More than 45.5 percent of children in the Clark County School District are participating in the free and reduced meals program. Three Square serves 169 schools and distributes more than 3,700 bags of food weekly.

Nick, co-founder of Winnit.com, a reverse auction Website, has embarked on the tour that celebrates the launch of Winnit while supporting and raising awareness of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. A portion of the proceeds from the first month of will be donated to Feeding America.

Las Vegas marks the 15th stop on the 11-day U.S. tour, which began in Nick’s hometown of Cincinnati on Oct. 5. Nick has been visiting Winnit members at their homes and hand-delivering the products they won through the auctions (products range from Louis Vuitton handbags to iPods to plasma TVs). In addition to delivering these items to 18 lucky members across the country, Nick also has been volunteering his time to help raise awareness of Feeding America with appearances at local soup kitchens and food banks in the cities along the way.

After his official duties for Winnit at Three Square, Nick wanted to challenge the thrill rides atop the Stratosphere, apparently something he couldn’t get girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo to enjoy with him during their recent trips to Las Vegas! Afterward, Nick played a few hands of blackjack at the Stratosphere before continuing his Las Vegas experience.
