Is Trisha Yearwood headed to the Great White Way?

Country singer Trisha Yearwood, who is married to Garth Brooks, was in Las Vegas with him for his announcement of a five-year weekend residency at the Encore Theater in Steve Wynn’s Wynn Las Vegas resort casino.

Trisha said, “As part of our give-and-take relationship, I’m thrilled he’s out of the house but still able to keep to our top priority of the children. But after five years at the Wynn, I will get to fulfill my dream of appearing on Broadway. I’ve turned down some interesting offers for New York.

“I don’t want to go there as a country star but as a singer, so we’ll take on a musical or something really different from what you might expect. Five years, though, is a long time, so we’ll see.”
