For the first time ever in Las Vegas, a multimillion-dollar, one-of-a-kind exhibit of Elvis Presley artifacts and priceless personal treasures is about to go on display. The King’s Ransom Museum opens tomorrow at the Imperial Palace in the very city where The King set up court and reigned supreme throughout the 1970s.
The museum will be opened tonight to VIPs for a private tour and reception. On hand will be Elvis’ former gal pal Linda Thompson, one-time Elvis bodyguard Sunny West, Elvis tour manager Joe Esposito and another gal pal, Kathy Spehar.
I was told: “There are pieces from both Elvis’ personal life and his acting and singing careers ranging from the 1950s through the ’70s. The Kings Ransom is truly unlike any other exhibit because items include his 1977 Lincoln Continental, stage and film wardrobes, personal clothing items, jewelry, guns, badges, law enforcement objects he collected, plus personal artifacts from his Graceland home. They include the Bible that was on his nightstand when he died.”
The exhibit, which remains on display at the Imperial Palace through April, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and admission is $10. Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik captured these images of the extraordinary exhibit.
