A surprise elimination on DWTS; Kelly’s ankle injury

First it was the drama of Kelly Osbourne being taken to a hospital with an ankle injury after last night’s show, and then it was the viewers’ revolt as they turned their wrath on the middle of the pack and handed out dismal voting scores.

Fortunately, Kelly was declared OK to return to next week’s show, which she said she would do even if ordered not to by doctors. She was declared safe anyway!

SPOILER ALERT: Please do not read any further if you want to get the full surprise and drama of watching the West Coast tape-delayed broadcast of ABC’s top-rated Dancing With the Stars. But come back after the show to compare notes with us!

The good news is that our Las Vegas favorites Donny Osmond with partner Kym Johnson and Kelly with partner Louis Van Amstel were declared safe and will dance again next week with Mya and partner Dmitry Chaplin. Contrary to my prediction, Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower were not eliminated.

DWTS: Season 9, Week 5

However, Joanna Krupa, who last night danced with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who was subbing for our Las Vegas Academy graduate Derek Hough, out with a bad flu, was placed on the firing line. Also on the chopping block were Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo, Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff and Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas.

Then it became just Aaron and Natalie when Joanna and Melissa were declared safe. The axe fell on Natalie, probably because the Olympic swimmer is not as well known as the others and not because of her dancing skills.

We’ll be back tomorrow with all the photos of the Michael Jackson tribute dances, and the surprise elimination of Natalie, who was far above Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova and Louie in the judges’ scoring last night.

Next week, it’s a double elimination of two celebrity couples to further shake it up, plus a mambo marathon!
