Seven-pound food challenge awaits at LBS: A Burger Joint

By Robin Leach

The task is monstrous and much more than just formidable. The task seems insurmountable, yet, at first blush, I bet you think you could take it on. But ponder a moment: Can anybody eat a six-pound burger with a pound of fries within one hour?

If anybody can overcome that challenge and succeed, it would be our own Las Vegas resident and competitive eater El Toro Jimenez. The Extreme Burger is the newest addition to the incredible “perfect gourmet burger” menu at LBS: A Burger Joint in Red Rock Resort. All beef burgers are made from all-natural, 21-day-aged Hereford Beef for the juicy and intense steakhouse flavor.

But at the halfway mark, El Toro threw in the towel and admitted that he was sadly defeated! El Toro was the first person to attempt The Extreme Burger in hopes of having it renamed in his honor and becoming the first member of the Heroes of the Hamburger wall.

If you can stomach watching El Toro’s fight with the six-pound monster, check out this video on YouTube:

The Extreme Burger includes six half-pound patties loaded with American cheese, smoked bacon, a Portobello mushroom, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, LBS Burger sauce, spicy mustard, herb mayo, “ghost” peppers (the hottest chili in the world, as confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records) and a pound of fries.

If you manage to finish the ultimate whopper, LBS picks up the cost, and it will then be renamed in your honor and you become the inaugural hero! If El Toro was beaten, who can possibly pull it off? Is this a job for Man v. Food host Adam Richman?
