Our good Las Vegas friend Kelly Osbourne is potentially on the chopping block on tonight’s Dancing With the Stars. With partner Louis Van Amstel, she scored only 20 points last night with their jitterbug. They tied with the same low score as actress Melissa Joan Hart with Mark Ballas and retired NFL star Michael Irvin, with Anna Demidova.
Worse is that in the tap-out of the mambo marathon that closed last night’s ABC show, Kelly was fourth out and scored 25 points for the night. So she will be in all probability joining Michael, Melissa and skateboarder Louie Vito as the foursome from which two couples will be kicked off the show.
It looks as if Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond is safe for yet another week. He and partner Kym Johnson scored 24 points with their jitterbug and were the sixth couple out in the mambo marathon for a total of 31, placing them fourth overall.
The overall winner last night was our Las Vegas Academy graduate Derek Hough with 36 points with celebrity partner model Joanna Krupa. They were closely followed by singer Mya and Dmitry Chaplin with 33 points and, rising much higher than expected, singer Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff, also with 33.
On tonight’s show, the drama will increase even more. The lowest vote getter goes home immediately. Then the second- and third-lowest scoring stars duel in a dance-off to be decided by the judges as to who stays and who goes.
We’ll have the spoiler-alert flash about 7:10 p.m. just before I start my emcee duties with the Joe Jackson celebrity star ceremony at the Brenden Theatres in the Palms. For obvious reasons, I won’t be able to provide you with a full report on the heart-wrenching, gut-tearing turmoil until tomorrow, but I do promise the names of both celebrity crashes on my Twitter page, and then our Editor Don Chareunsy will post the Vegas DeLuxe version with photos.
