Strip Scribbles: Terry Fator hosts Nevada Arthritis Walk

I wanted to share the photos of Mirage headliner Terry Fator hosting the Nevada Arthritis Walk at Discovery Park in Henderson with you. It was all to support his sister Debi, who is this year’s Arthritis Walk honorary chairwoman.

Terry welcomed the crowd to start the walk and afterward presented special awards. Since winning America’s Got Talent in 2007, Terry has been a voice of awareness for this debilitating disease as his sister, Debi, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when she was only 18.

Part of Terry’s $1 million Season 2 winnings from AGT was spent on treatments for Debi, which neither could previously afford. Terry is hosting a benefit concert, “Voices for a Cure,” in honor of Debi on Nov. 15 at his Mirage theater, with proceeds benefiting the Arthritis Foundation, Southern California Chapter.

*It’s a case of spilled blood between sibling rivals Tao and Lavo at The Venetian and Palazzo, respectively. For Halloween this weekend, Twilight stars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz host at Tao, while True Blood stars Rutina Wesley and Sam Trammel host at Lavo.

Several stars turned out for XS’ Hollywood Halloween party in the Encore hosted by Jeff Beacher and his Beacher’s Madhouse crew. Peepshow star Holly Madison held court at a VIP dance floor table with friends and her own XS Hollywood star on the floor. Holly dressed as actress Pamela Anderson from her Baywatch days. Also at XS were Gary Sheffield, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Tony Kanaan (who donned a Michael Jackson costume) and UFC star Chuck Liddell. … Chuck enjoyed dinner at Strip House in Planet Hollywood. He sat in the popular wine room, which is hidden within wine walls containing 1,200 bottles. … Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson toured “Titanic: the Artifact Exhibition” and “Bodies: The Exhibition” in the Luxor with her fiance David Otunga. The couple was seen happily holding hands and hugging as they strolled through the exhibits. … Retired Miami Dolphins quarterback legend Dan Marino is scheduled to attend the grand opening of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza on Nov. 4 because he is an owner/partner of the Town Square restaurant.

Tonight’s tips

I’ve already told you about the premiere of Wayne Newton’s Once Before I Go at the Tropicana, but another showbiz veteran has a show at Stage Door Theater in Town Square. Long ago, the late Wayland Flowers brilliantly and comically manipulated his ventriloquist doll Madame. Now the character is back to life with a triumphant return for an Aid for AIDS of Nevada fundraiser. Singer Hillary Boyd will open the show. … The best cowboys of the Professional Bull Riders World Finals have started arriving for their weekend kickoff, and the pre-party takes place center Strip at the Rockhouse. … Ferry Corsten, who is on tour for his album Twice in a Blue Moon, performs a mini-concert at Body English in the Hard Rock Hotel. … Sadly, it’s the closing night of Mist at Treasure Island, as owner Phil Ruffin fine-tunes his resort, and, naturally, after seven incredible years, Mist plans to party through the night.
