Penn & Teller, Holly Madison, George Wallace support HRC

More than 500 people attended the Human Rights Campaign’s “Speak the Truth” gala dinner at the Versailles Ballroom in the Paris, and Strip stars turned up to support the fight for equality.

The Rio headliner magicians Penn & Teller led a parade of stars, including Holly Madison and Josh Strickland of Peepshow, Paris headliner hypnotist Anthony Cools, Flamingo comedy headliner George Wallace, cast members from Jubilee! at Bally’s and Le Reve at the Wynn and Ugly Betty actor Alec Mapa.

Nevada Sen. Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, was the keynote speaker at the fourth annual dinner of the HRC, the country’s largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights. HRC President Joe Solmonese attended the event, which was to raise funds to fight for fair-minded elected officials and laws protecting the gay community against discrimination and hate crimes.

On a couple of side notes, how could I resist this photo snapped by Penn’s lovely wife Emily? She found the Nevada Federal Credit Union billboard so amusing that she decided it was a keeper. Emily also posted this photo of the two of them riding a roller coaster. Somehow I thought seeing it that Penn wished he could pull a magic trick to get off that ride!

Incidentally, carpet installers working on a renovation at Planet Hollywood received a most pleasant surprise yesterday and had to take a break to watch! Holly throws out the first pitch at our Las Vegas 51s game tonight before Peepshow and practiced her pitching in the hallways at the casino resort yesterday.
