The Mirage executives organizing the 20th anniversary celebrations of the casino resort promise that their Oct. 2 concert will make Las Vegas history. They say it will be the largest gathering of major rock stars in one place at one time.
Kiefer Sutherland of Fox’s 24 will host the celebration and debut his rock band. Kiefer owns the recording studio and music label Ironworks with business partner Jude Cole.
Acts who have already signed on for The Mirage concert and with more to come include Courtney Love, making a rare appearance in Las Vegas, Katy Perry, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, Matt Sorum, Rob Zombie and Slash and his wife Perla. The list is getting so long, I’ve already forgotten the others!
Katy Perry.
The concert and 20th anniversary party will take place at the adults-only, topless Bare Ultra Pool, presumably so if anybody wants to doff their bra or bikini top and jump in the pool to cool down, that will be OK!
The music act list is growing, and for those unable to get into the party, there will be eventual TV footage for iPod broadcast and possibly a DVD/CD.
