Not only will Janet Jackson open this weekend’s live MTV Video Music Awards with a song and dance tribute to late brother Michael, but I’m reliably told that we also will get the first sneak peek at the new film This Is It being released on Oct. 28. It will be the very first look anywhere at the trailer culled from some 100 hours of behind-the-scenes footage while the King of Pop was prepping for his 50-concert London run at 02 Arena with rehearsals at Staples Center in L.A.
Also at the VMAs, which hopefully we can lure back to the Palms next year from Radio City Music Hall, will be an extended trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Remember I told you this was filmed this summer in the Tuscan countryside around Montepulciano, where I enjoyed my vacation. Click HERE for that story.

Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will introduce the trailer on Sunday night! Co-star Ashley Greene will serve as the red carpet fashion correspondent for the pre-show arrivals of confirmed stars including Las Vegas’ own hometown heroes Ne-Yo, Pink and Katy Perry. Beyonce and Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Nelly Furtado and Green Day also are among the entertainers at the show being hosted for the second consecutive year by controversial British comedian Russell Brand.
