I hereby nominate British singing sensation Matt Goss as the leader of a new Rat Pack of Las Vegas stars. With all due respect, it’s time to retire the legend of Frank Sinatra and let Matt ascend to those heights! At his Palms premiere in The Gossy Lounge, he didn’t just hit a home run; he knocked it right out of the ballpark.
Wow, what a night! This was lightning excitement, and of course it didn’t hurt that one of the world’s most magnificent women, Nicole Scherzinger, leader of the Pussycat Dolls, was in the front row shouting and shrieking like all the other stars and fans that included my longtime friends “Downtown” Julie Brown, Daisy Fuentes and Deborah Gibson. Even Mariah Carey stopped by with Palms head honcho George Maloof to congratulate Matt.
Matt’s high-powered, energetic band was brilliant! His two backup singers clad in the sexiest of flight attendant uniforms the skies have ever seen served up the perfect mile-high experience! Matt’s Dirty Virgin dancers strutted and seduced in their black bustiers, pink garters and thigh-high stockings.
Nicole even went up onstage to join Matt on a duet of the Nina Simone classic “Feelin’ Good,” which has recently been performed by the likes of Michael Buble, Adam Lambert on American Idol and Josh Strickland in Peepshow. I honestly thought they’d bring the house down with that perfect platinum performance, which you can watch for yourself via YouTube. Once again, our leading lens lady Denise Truscello captured an amazing selection of candid and up-close photos for our gallery!

Matt had come -- and conquered! When his new single “Evil” hits the charts shortly, he’ll be right back up at the top all over again, even bigger than when he and twin brother Luke were the darlings of the ’90s British music scene as members of Bros! I sent real-time tweets throughout the show and was blown away with followers in England, Scotland and Australia hanging on every word yet again!

For Nicole, it was an especially busy night. After watching and performing with Matt, she joined The Pointer Sisters for sugar free Red Bull and Fiji water at a VIP table on the main stage of Rain at the Palms. Amazingly energized -- perhaps it was the sexy, skin-tight black pants? -- she went on to LAX at the Luxor for a sizzling three-song set and chilled at a VIP table with her entourage.
The night wasn’t over for nonstop party girl Nicole. Pre-dawn, she wound up at Drai’s After Hours in Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall at center Strip holding court with two VIP tables of friends, including DJ Paul Oakenfold of Perfecto Saturdays at Rain in the Palms. The stunningly beautiful brunette didn’t turn away her fans once, even happily posing for fans waiting with her in valet for the limo!
Meantime, back at the Palms, Matt continued to celebrate his king of the night opening with an entourage that was 45-strong and included Daisy, who I believe was his fiancee and girlfriend for five years. Also up in The Playboy Club with him were Pussycat Dolls founder, choreographer and producer Robin Antin, her brother Jonathan Antin of Blow Out fame and “Downtown” Julie Brown, who appeared with me on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here broadcast from the Australian rain forest!

Now if Matt is the new Rat Pack leader, we can easily find him some additional pals. I nominate Zowie Bowie’s dynamite duo of Marley Taylor and Chris Phillips. They’d vacated the Palms Lounge before Matt moved in, and last night they had the first preview performance of Zowie Bowie Presents the Vintage Vegas Show at the Monte Carlo. You can read our coverage on Vegas DeLuxe later today, but suffice to say for now that it was another big winner to light up the Strip as they all bring back the era of champagne wishes and caviar dreams! The Rat Pack has resurfaced, and Las Vegas is alive and well with its new entertainment emperors!
