Strip Scribbles: Is newlywed Christina Milian pregnant?

Rumors are rampant that singer Christina Milian and music producer The Dream are expecting their first baby. They were married here in a surprise runaway wedding on Sept. 4 at Britney Spears’ favorite Little White Wedding Chapel, and friends of the couple say the wedding was on regardless of the pregnancy.

This will be Christina’s first baby, and in interviews, she and The Dream have said that they would love to start a family together.

*Mark your calendars now! The official grand opening gala of the Strip’s new Hard Rock Cafe with celebrities and rockers is set for Oct. 15 with 2,000 guests. More than 20 A-list names will be on hand to help smash guitars instead of cutting a traditional ribbon, and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden fame will entertain.

*Thanks to the prestigious Murray Newlands marketing Web site for placing Vegas DeLuxe fifth in its Top 10 list of Las Vegas blogs. It’s our first major recognition in our nearly 11 months of existence, and we say a grateful and humbled thank you! We strive to be the best and won’t settle until we are No. 1. A shout-out to my friend Richard Abowitz, who also writes for Las Vegas Weekly, with his No. 8 ranking for the Los Angeles Times Moveable Buffet blog.

*Actor Corbin Bernsen was a surprise guest at Miss Kitty’s Jeans to Jewels party benefiting our beloved charity Opportunity Village. That prompted an impromptu live auction, and Corbin volunteered a day with him in L.A., in addition to his autographed scripts, and it brought in an $8,000 winning bid.

*Just as Michael Boychuck was ready to call it quits after a slamming day at his Amp Salon in the Palms, he had two last-minute requests he couldn’t refuse. In came Mariah Carey before her concert in the nearby Pearl and Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin before the red carpet for the Matt Goss premiere party!

*Just before leaving Las Vegas after three days of charity work and recording promos for the 2010 Miss America Pageant, 2009 Miss America Katie Stam grabbed another of her new chili-and-cheese hot dogs -- the Miss America Hot Dog -- for lunch from Pink’s Hot Dogs. She also had dinner at Strip House at Planet Hollywood. Katie flew home to Indiana for the weekend and worked at a fundraiser for the first NFL game of the season for her hometown favorites the Indianapolis Colts.

*The America’s Best DJ Awards took place at Ghostbar in the Palms hosted by DJ Times Magazine and Pioneer Pro DJ. Rain resident DJ Paul Oakenfold presented DJ Z-Trip with an award for America’s Best DJ for 2009. To celebrate, Z-Trip performed a two-hour set at Rain for Paul’s Perfecto Vegas.

Actress Andrea Bowen of ABC’s Desperate Housewives treated her brother Cameron to a performance of Blue Man Group at The Venetian for his 21st birthday. The blue men even saluted the pair on the stage LED crawl screen. Andrea and Cameron dined at Tao with friends and family on dumplings, fried rice, spring rolls and a large sampling of sushi, and ended with a huge birthday platter of desserts with a giant signature Tao fortune cookie! … British actor Julian Morris Sorority Row soaked up the sun with seven friends at Tao Beach. … Allen Evangelista of ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager had a VIP table in Lavo in the Palazzo listening to DJ Crooked. … Boxer Evander Holyfield was with friends in the lounge at Lavo and danced and talked with everyone nearby in between Long Island Iced Teas. … Singer Mickey Avalon and former NBA star Gary Payton dined at nearby separate tables at Strip House. … Retired NBA player Spud Webb was at Rain with a large group of friends at a dance floor VIP table.

*Three Vegas residents will be featured on tonight’s Wheel of Fortune. This is from the recent tapings at The Venetian, which will air all week long. Up first tonight will be Davina Albanese, a restaurant server; Michelle Allen, a customer service representative; and Todd Knight, an aspiring Metro Police officer.

*A rare bullfight will be staged today when one of Mexico’s most famous matadors, Eulalio “El Zotoluco” Lopez, stares down half a ton of trouble as it charges at him. In the South Point arena, no blood will be spilled -- unless the matador is maimed! There’s added danger because, instead of a spear and sword, only Velcro-tipped sticks will be stuck onto a matching Velcro pad on the bull’s back! In all, three Mexican fighters will challenge the ballistic bulls while being watched by Clark County animal welfare officials to ensure safety for the animals. Today is the first of six fight days as part of the Mexican Independence Day festivities.
