Hours before the premiere screening of Michael Jackson’s film This Is It, family patriarch Joe Jackson will be presented with his own celebrity star at the Brenden Theaters in the Palms.

The ceremony will take place on Oct. 27, and I have learned exclusively that Joe’s star will be placed right alongside that of his son. Click HERE for our coverage of the Brenden star tribute that I emceed honoring Michael on his birthday, Aug. 29, which would have been his 51st.

This Is It (click HERE to watch the trailer) will be released worldwide for an initial two-week run starting at 12:01a.m. on Oct. 28. I’ve learned that Sony/Columbia Pictures has given approval for a special Palms screening that Joe will watch at 9:01 p.m. on October 27 after the star presentation at the Palms, allowing for the East Coast midnight time zone.

The star-studded red carpet observance with other members of the Jackson family attending will take place shortly before the first showing of This Is It, where Joe is expected to make introductory remarks.
