It came right down to the wire! Our regular Las Vegas visitor Kelly Osbourne was left standing in the final three before Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron announced who was being booted off the first results show: Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor’s best girlfriend supermodel Kathy Ireland or controversial singer Macy Gray.

As we’d predicted, Macy, who’d upset viewers and censors with her previous night’s remarks, was axed, and Kelly was declared safe to dance again next Monday! Said Macy: “Ballroom isn’t my calling, but I learned a little bit about dancing.” Her pro partner Jonathan Roberts, who also was ousted the first week last season, added: “I’m so proud of her.”

Said Kelly: “I am so relieved. I don’t remember any of it. It is so scary and nerve-wracking. I was totally terrified! I don’t even know if I did any of it right. I’m just pleased my mom and dad were so excited and pleased. I’m sad and sorry to see Macy go because she was a big help to me today backstage. But now I am up against some fantastic women.”

DWTS Results: Season 9, Week 1

My pal George Hamilton’s actor-model son Ashley also was kicked off with pro dancer Edyta Sliwinska. Our Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond, who somehow miraculously jetted back in time to perform at his Donny & Marie show on the Strip last night, and UFC champion Chuck Liddell will both be back on Monday for the second week of competition. Donny changed on the private plane and literally leapt from the airport limo right onto the stage with no seconds to spare!

Said Chuck, who has shed 20 pounds since starting the grueling rehearsals for ABC’s top-rated show: “This is way more scary than going in the ring. I haven’t been this scared in over 15 years. I have no nerves when I go into the ring, but this was terrifying. Plus all my friends in the UFC are ribbing me unmercifully.” UFC President and best Las Vegas pal Dana White led the cheering squad in the studio.

It was a night when Las Vegas shined and dazzled with Kelly, Donny and Chuck -- and also with the cast of The Lion King from our Mandalay Bay production. The audience gave them an amazing standing ovation for their “Circle of Life” song and dance routine with the incredible puppetry and costumes. It was a stunning showcase for the Strip performers, and ticket sales should be on fire today!

Last night’s telecast highlights also included the dance tribute to the late Patrick Swayze -- and also a laugh-out-loud appearance by our Rio headliner Penn of Penn & Teller in the Loser’s Club video segment. The funniest on-the-floor comedy came from Adam Carolla’s hysterical locker room coach advice segment to the male contestants when he pointed out that a man has not won DWTS in many years -- as the disco ball winner’s trophy has been claimed by women the past three years after a four-year run by men! Who knew Chuck, Donny and even Tom DeLay could be that funny?!
