Agassi’s Grand Slam includes Daughtry, Dane Cook, Tim McGraw

For the 14th year, our hometown hero, tennis champion and philanthropist Andre Agassi throws his star-studded Grand Slam concert event to raise funds for his College Preparatory Academy that is transforming education. This year is no exception, and tomorrow Tim McGraw, Dane Cook, Daughtry and Brian McKnight are the headliners. As usual, my pal David Foster is the musical director.

Andre’s Grand Slam events have raised nearly $75 million since 1995, and he said: “Each year, the stars align and donate their talents to celebrate our achievements and support our work in education. This year’s Grand Slam will allow us to create opportunities that change children’s lives.”

The red carpet, gala dinner and concert will be held at The Wynn. Wynn President Andrew Pascal commented: “We are thrilled to be a supporter of Andre’s event because of our great admiration for his work. We are proud to partner with him as he continues to transform education in our community.”

This afternoon in a prelude to the event, Andre will unveil this year’s signature piece of modern artwork designed by Brazilian artist Romero Britto before it is auctioned off at the concert. This morning, Andre is giving a tour of the school to the media.
