Photo Gallery: Lance Bass gets surprise lap dance at Britney’s show

Britney Spears sure went out with a bang! In fact, it was the biggest explosion I’ve seen and heard in my 10 years in Las Vegas: Hundreds of thousands of silver-colored confetti fired from stage-side cannons showered the audience in waves of giant blasts to mark the final show of the seven-month Circus Tour starring Britney Spears. The pop princess was center stage as a circle of golden sparklers poured down around her!
It also was a take your kids to work day for the 27-year-old singer as sons Sean Preston and Jayden James watched from special ringside seats with her boyfriend, Hollywood agent/manager Jason Trawick. On several of the song and dance numbers, it appeared to me that she was performing right to them, as you can see in my own photos I took of her from directly behind where they sat.
My friend glamour fashion photographer Alfredo Andreani also added his personal shots to our photo gallery! His wife Rain, who runs Rain Cosmetics here, was chosen to do Britney’s hair and makeup for her Las Vegas shows when the singer’s team contacted Michael Boychuck’s AMP Salon in the Palms to fill in for her touring hair and makeup artist who was ill.
I also was just a few seats away from Hilton headliner Barry Manilow and my pal Dancing With the Stars contestant and former ’N Sync star Lance Bass. In a surprise to Britney and Lance, he was plucked to sit on the couch under the Big Top for a lap dance when she sang “Breathe on Me” to him. Lance sang along as Britney smiled at him during the erotic dance routine. I’m reliably told that neither Lance nor Britney knew about the last-night surprise pulled off by Britney’s team!
At the first of the two closing Mandalay Bay Events Center shows, Scary Spice Girl Mel B and teen-singing sensation Miley Cyrus joined the crowd. Miley raced over from her own show at the nearby Thomas & Mack Center. “She’s a huge Britney fan! She missed the first 20 minutes of Britney’s near two-hour performance but snuck in and out of the front row barely noticed,” I was told. “She loved it.”

It was a powerhouse performance by Britney to bring her American tour to an end. The energy was electrifying and the sensational production so slick and spectacular that it blew away the earlier Circus shows she performed here in April -- and they were incredible, too! Las Vegas magician Ed Lorenzo also was onstage with Britney for three of the illusions he’d created for her Circus. She has one final leg of the worldwide run to fulfill in Australia in November, and I’ve been told it could be as long as three or four years before Britney tours in the U.S. again.
There’s no doubt that Britney is at her happiest when her children Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, are around. Her dancers, cast, crew and management team all confirm that, and yesterday afternoon, she took the kids off to the new Sugar Factory in The Mirage. An attempt in the morning had failed when photographers mobbed the store. Britney spent about $3,000 on her sweet shopping spree and bought the unique lollipops for her dancers and 10 bags of candy, T-shirts and Halloween gift baskets. Britney phoned back to order 300 Couture Pops from Sugar Factory delivered to her cast and crew as a wrap-party treat after the final show. Britney’s dad Jamie was here over the weekend, too, as he has been on almost all of the tour, in his court-appointed role as conservator and keeping an eagle eye on absolutely everything to ensure her continued safety.
Jayden had so much fun with his mom and her boyfriend that he didn’t want to leave the store! She had to leave, though, for the final night’s Circus performance, so the Sugar Factory staff delivered another $2,000 worth of products to her villa at The Mirage where she stayed on her visit.

There was a low-key, private, post-show wrap party early this morning that Britney gave for her dancers, but no partying until dawn on the town at any of our Strip nightclubs. In this new post-rehabilitative world, Britney is isolated from any alcohol or drug temptations -- and she heads back home to L.A. today to prepare for this week’s new video shoot. This week, she also has the promotions for the upcoming November release of her new CD set marking 10 years of hits.
Britney performed 83 shows on the Circus Tour exactly as planned and didn’t miss one performance.
