Has the recession left you bruised and battered? Has the depression damaged your lifestyle? Has the failing economy affected your family? Then real estate mogul and hotel tycoon Donald Trump and the producers of his The Apprentice think you could be a perfect contestant.
The Donald’s NBC casting executives are in Las Vegas today to find hard-luck stories of long-term unemployed, just terminated and underemployed people and recent college graduates unable to find work. I know it’s April Fools Day, but the casting is for real at Trump International Hotel opposite Fashion Show mall beginning at 9 a.m. If unable to attend the call, e-mail a resume, photograph and a letter on how the recession has affected you to ginacasting@yahoo.com.
Recent college students who have been unable to find work after graduating are invited to the auditions. The Donald is not expected in Las Vegas for the open call, but he will be here for his Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood’s Theater for the Performing Arts in May. That two-hour live special will be used to kick off the new season of The Apprentice.
If your tale of misery and woe wins over the casting crew and you wind up on the program thinking it could change your life, how easy will it be for The Donald at that point to still say, “You’re Fired?”
