It took 17 years -- and in that time, the two boxers fought 70 fights total -- but Bernard Hopkins got his revenge against arch nemesis Roy Jones Jr. in the ring last night here in Las Vegas.
Contributing photographers Tom Donoghue and Erik Kabik were in the midst of all the ring action yesterday evening at Mandalay Bay Events Center. Bernard won the 12-round fight by unanimous decision after a colorful and dramatic bout that included theater, emotion, four timeouts, illegal back-of-the-head and below-the-belt blows by Roy and fighting after the bell in Round 6.
Our colleagues at LasVegasSun.com blogged the fight round by round, which looks to be the final fight for both boxers. Rapper Flavor Flav, in a white suit and with his trademark clock hanging around his neck, watched the boxers clock each other.
