A night of storytelling and fancy footwork on Dancing With the Stars

It’s Week 3 of Dancing With the Stars, and even though singer Nicole Scherzinger remains atop the leader board with Las Vegas pro partner Derek Hough and legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin and reality TV star Kate Gosselin battle it out at the bottom, things could get really interesting tonight on the ABC hit.
That’s because it’s not only about dancing, but also about storytelling. Chief judge and curmudgeon Len Goodman threw a wrench in the works last week when he ordered the celebrity contestants to not only learn a new dance but also to tell a relevant and topical story about themselves.
It’s safe to guess that when actress Pamela Anderson dances her paso doble with Damian Whitewood, she’ll reference her many appearances in Playboy and/or her wild past liaisons with rockers Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. It also is safe to assume that when Buzz performs his waltz with Ashly Costa that it will take on the appearance of a unique moonwalk to celebrate the fact that he was the second man on the lunar surface.
Pamela tweeted this morning: “I’m dancing my heart out tonight. This dance has a lot of meaning for me. I think all my relationships with men are in this one. Empowerment!”

A big question is how Kate and partner Tony Dovolani will perform their paso doble and relate it to her reality TV series with eight children and ex-husband Jon Gosselin. No doubt when Evan Lysacek dances with pro partner Anna Trebunskaya, it will have an Olympic gold medal-winning theme.
As I am still in the Caribbean celebrating a large reunion with friends in from England and New York, and even though I am on the same East Coast live-transmission time zone, it’s unlikely that I will be able to tweet reports tonight. I’ll do my best after our big dinner party to send an abbreviated story of the dances, the stories and the judges’ votes with a spoiler-alert warning.

However, we’ll definitely have all the dance-floor action photos from this evening’s broadcast posted here at Vegas DeLuxe tomorrow.
