Here’s what is planned for Prive in Planet Hollywood this weekend, but after last night’s news that I broke first on Twitter that the nightspot was calling it quits, you’d better check as to what’s on and what isn’t. It’s highly possibly none of the following will actually take place now that Prive has lost its lease and is shutting down for good:
The official Las Vegas movie release party of Kick Ass starring Nicolas Cage; Chris Lane’s Big 40 birthday bash; the Pencils of Promise charity party with James Bond’s Spyder C8 on display; and a ring girl casting call for Las Vegas resident Mike Tyson’s induction into the Boxing Hall of Fame.
*For the ninth consecutive year, master magician Lance Burton hosted the Sunshine Foundation’s ill children from all over America. Lance and his dancers comped their tickets and greeted the children after the sold-out show, giving each gifts and autographed souvenir programs.

*Catching up on my tweets: Mayor Oscar Goodman told me that he’s thrilled about the two new weekly Virgin Atlantic direct flights from Manchester, England, to Las Vegas that will start next April. He plans to be on the inaugural 747 flight. … Las Vegas entertainment mogul David Saxe has acquired the shuttered Steve Wyrick Theater at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile and will reopen the 22,000-square-foot facility in June with a major talent-driven stage production. … Motley Crue hometown hero Vince Neil won a bronze medal for his Three Kings tequila at the Wine & Spirits Convention at Caesars Palace this week, which featured Sarah Palin as the keynote speaker. … What major NFL star is launching a new vodka here with the name Yo? … Las Vegas stripper and porn star Joselyn James, one of Tiger Woods alleged mistresses, is dancing at the men’s club Pink Pony near where Tiger is competing in the Masters in Augusta, Ga.
Larry Ruvo and Danny DeVito at the 2010 UNLVino event Bubble-Licious at Caesars Palace on April 8, 2010.
French pastry chef Francois Payard, center, with Las Vegas chefs at a Vegas Uncork'd preview at the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace on April 8, 2010.
STAR SURVEILLANCE
Actor Danny DeVito launched his sparkling prosecco Bella at last night’s 36th Annual UNLVino Sip for Scholarship event Bubble-Licious at Caesars Palace’s Garden of the Gods. Mayor Oscar and his requisite showgirls attended, along with Julius Caesar, Cleopatra and U.K. Robot Lover video vixen Louise Richmond. Celebrated pastry chef Francois Payard was feted by the chefs and honored with the Dom Perignon Award of Excellence and a 21-Dom bottle salute. UNLVino continues tonight with Sake Fever poolside at the Palms and the Grand Tasting of 500 vintners tomorrow. … Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky watched Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere at Treasure Island for the 20th(!) time and for his daughter her 10th time. After the show, cast members, especially the Canadians, lined up for photos and autographs with the NHL hero. … Dirty.com blogger Nik Richie was fist pumping during a surprise performance by Hard Nox at Eva Longoria Parker’s Eve the Nightclub in Crystals at MGM’s CityCenter. The band tweeted, “Went thru 2 bottles at Eve in Vegas within 30 mins!” Also at Eve was Maxim model Leslie Kay Nelson celebrating her birthday with DJ Tiesto and Ashley Zarin of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
*Rock has gone to the dogs, or is it the other way around? It’s the 11th Annual Pet-A-Palooza at Sam Boyd Stadium tomorrow with performances by Barenaked Ladies, Five for Fighting, Kris Allen and Orianthi in between small and big dog contests, border collie and dog shows and a performance by Gregory Poppovich from V Theater. There also are contests for wiener dogs and pet and owner look-alikes.
*Former President George W. Bush’s senior adviser and deputy chief of staff known as “The Architect” signed copies of his book Courage and Consequence: My Life As a Conservative in the Fight today at Barnes & Noble at Maryland and Flamingo and was joined by Jerry Tarkanian, son Danny Tarkanian and Wayne and Kathleen Newton. Karl Rove delivers a lecture at UNLV tonight.
