Dancing With the Stars: It’s still close at the top — and bottom

Couples await their fate on Week 3 of ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

Things didn’t change very much as far as judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were concerned in tonight’s double scoring on ABC’s top-rated Dancing With the Stars.

SPOILER ALERT: Please do not read any further if you want to watch the West Coast tape-delayed broadcast of Dancing With the Stars without anything revealed. Consider this my one and only friendly warning! But come back after the show to see if you agree with my observations.

The trio kept actress Pamela Anderson with Damian Whitewood as the last dance, and the judges warned all the rumba contestants that their dance had to be sexy, not raunchy, and it should be legal and regal with passion.

DWTS Season 10: Week 3

Pamela, wearing bra and panties -- for the first time this season! -- and extra fabric to assure no wardrobe malfunction, scored a fabulous 47, closing in on third place in the competition. She must be ecstatic and better not have viewer-voting problems!

The judges scored tonight on technique and performance, so the numbers here are out of a possible 60. The top of the leader board didn’t change, with Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya getting 52 for their tango and singer Nicole Scherzinger with Derek Hough right behind them with 50. The surprise of the night was the giant stride forward made by Cincinnati Bengals star Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke with 44 for their rumba.

Then it’s the middle group all bunched together again: ESPN host Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy falter a bit with 39 for their tango; The Bachelor stud Jake Pavelka and Las Vegas’ Chelsie Hightower receive 38 for their tango; and comedienne and actress Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel score 36 for their rumba (Louis explained that their dance was dedicated to Niecy’s brother who was murdered 17 years ago).

DWTS Season 10: Week 3 Elimination

Then at the bottom, it’s All My Children star Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinska with a dismal 33 just ahead of reality TV star Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani with the lowest score of the night -- just 32 for their tango. It really looks as if Kate will get axed tomorrow night on the elimination show.

Vegas DeLuxe will be back tomorrow with all the dance-floor action photos and a full recap of tonight’s sexy rumbas.
