It was a sensational sunshine day in Las Vegas yesterday, and the stars turned out in full force to enjoy the perfect desert weather.

Kim and Khloe Kardashian threw a 31st birthday celebration yesterday for older sister and new mom Kourtney at Wet Republic at MGM Grand, and photographer Denise Truscello was on the red carpet welcome for the trio and then in their exclusive VIP bungalow when a towering cake was presented to the birthday girl.

Hopes of seeing the trio partying in skimpy bikinis were dashed when they decided that a stunning fashion show was more in order for their appearance. I talked with all three sisters, and they happily spilled upcoming secrets of Season 5 of E! Entertainment’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which starts shooting this week.

CHAZZ PALMINTERI

Actor Chazz Palminteri relaxed in a private cabana at Azure Pool in the Palazzo yesterday. Chazz ordered crisp flatbread pizza and prime beef carpaccio from chef Wolfgang Puck’s menu and enjoyed Evian water mistings and frozen grapes that are part of the pool’s luxury amenities.

Chazz also stopped by neighboring Tao Beach in The Venetian, where he for the first time got behind the wheels of steel in the DJ booth and played his own favorites to an amazed crowd.

The Oscar-nominated star has returned to Las Vegas for this Wednesday’s opening night of his critically acclaimed one-man show A Bronx Tale at The Venetian Showroom. “There’s no better way to prepare than a relaxing day at the pool,” he told friends.

His extraordinary tour de force in the play -- a return engagement for Chazz -- continues through May 9, and plans are already in place for him to return Oct. 7-18. Chazz told me when we chatted Friday that he’d love to do 12 weeks of the play here each year. “I really love Las Vegas. It would be great to be here on a regular basis.” We’ll have our full interview with Chazz later this week.

KRISTIN CAVALLARI

Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari peeled down to a sizzling bikini for her hosting duties at the new Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria in MGM’s CityCenter. Kristin starred in Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County before switching over to The Hills. She has signed with MTV for this year’s sixth and final season of 12 episodes starting Tuesday night, although Kristin told E!’s Marc Malkin that MTV might double the length of the final season and that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are not returning to the series.

Kristin has been linked with hunk Brody Jenner over the years. While Brody was recently here in a double tattoo session with singer Avril Lavigne at Mario Barth’s new King Ink in The Mirage, Kristin spilled to Marc: “I can’t deny the fact that he is one of the most good-looking men in the entire world. We have a lot of fun together. I don’t know if we could ever really get back together and be serious, but we are sort of trying to see if we could.”

PARIS HILTON

The pool party parade continues today with Paris Hilton, who arrived last night, at the Hard Rock Hotel’s famed Rehab. Before she headed off to Vanity at the Hard Rock yesterday evening, she and sister Nicky Hilton had hair king to the stars Michael Boychuck and his beauty experts Davone Philavong and Lavey Ortiz from his Color salon at Caesars Palace add their glitz and glamour for the appearances last night -- and again this afternoon.
