The one long table for 130 foodies attending the first of the new Project Dinner Table series was a massive hit, selling out with a very long waiting list. Guests feasted on a six-course meal prepared by chef Royston Ellamar of Sensi at the Bellagio created mostly with ingredients from local growers.

Project Dinner Table

The outdoor dinner in an agricultural farm field orchard in North Las Vegas was such an incredible success that it will be repeated at Sculpture Park on May 22 with chef Joe Konski of Monte Carlo. You can learn more about this admirable local sustainable food effort at ProjectDinnerTable.com.

Project Dinner Table will be a monthly event throughout the warmer summer evenings and deserves the support of our community to ensure its continued success and appreciation of homegrown products.

*The two winners on last night’s Top Chef Masters on Bravo were Jody Adams and Susur Lee, and the eliminated chefs were Debbie Gold, Maria Hines and Rick Tramonto. On next week’s episode, our so-far victorious Mandalay Bay chefs Rick Moonen and Susan Feniger return in the champions round to go up against the six other cheftestants.

The episode “Wedding Wars” will feature a blindfold challenge for the kitchen kings and queens. Then the real eliminations get underway!

Mozen Bistro

*There’s a new way to celebrate Sunday brunch in Las Vegas. Mozen Bistro at Mandarin Oriental in MGM’s CityCenter is introducing Sake Sundays. The $58 feast is an international adventure in dining with free-flowing Tyku sake cocktails. Patrons also can order nonstop champagne or mimosas to go with the incredible sushi and sashimi buffet.

Servers bring the 72 short ribs dish, and there’s everything from stir fry seafood to truffled eggs to Indian vegetable curry and pork vindaloo for the main course, with an overflowing dessert table of chocolate cremeux, raspberry pana cotta, chocolate pot de creme, Mandarin creme brulee and cheesecake almond Napoleon.
